Hill House is our 1903 Victorian house we purchased in 2011.  The house is located in Lead, South Dakota which is located at the north end of the Black Hills.

We drove through the area in 2010 and fell in love with the area because of the mountains and the tall Ponderosa pines.  The area is the home of Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Deadwood, the Sturgis Bike Rally and our own town feature, the Homestake Gold Mine.  The gold mine has now been shut down and converted into a laboratory searching for Dark Matter and Neutrinos, among other things.   When the mine was operational, it was the richest, largest, and deepest mine in the Western Hemisphere.  In its heyday it was owned by George Hurst, father of the publisher William Randolph Hurst.

Hill House was an abandoned 2 story house with walk-out basement which we are slowly redoing.  We would love to entertain any visitors who are in the area.
